Famous personalities who are differently abled

"However difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at." —Stepheinn Hawkg

People who are not able to do physical or mental work but do have the same spirit as everyone else is known as "Differently Abled" people. According to the data, there are one billion differently-abled people in the world, which is 15% of the total global population. The number of disabled people is highest in the age group of 10–19 years. In India, there are eight crore people who fall into this category, and 70% of them live in rural areas. It was found through studies that  women, children, and elderly  people contribute more to the  population of this one billion  dollar world. One of the main reasons people have this  problem is poverty. India  ranks number one among the countries having the largest  number of visually impaired  people in the world.

They are called "Differently  Abled" because there are  many people across the world  who have set examples by  reaching the apex of their  lives in spite of facing physical and mental  challenges. Who hasn't heard  of Stephen Hawkings  (theoretical physicist,  cosmologist, and author),  Albert Einstein (theoretical  physicist), George  Washington (1st president of  the United States), Hellen  Keller (American author,  disability rights activist, and lecturer), Tom Cruise (actor), Ravindra Jain (musician), Walt Disney (television producer), and many more examples.

In the 1980s, the US Democratic National Committee introduced the term "Differently Abled" as a more acceptable term than "disabled" or "handicapped." The central government of India in December 2015 gave a new name for people with disabilities to 'Divyang’ (divine body) instead of 'Viklang’. There are many laws which are drawn up by the governments in their respective nations for people with disabilities to empower them in every sector.

"Differently abled" people are among us and deserve equality in every sector of the world, regardless of their age or gender. They share the same spirit and equal rights as others, and this is why, in spite of the difficulties, they have left so much to learn and get inspiration from their works and their personalities. One should get motivation and the will or urge to do something in their life. Rather than looking at someone facing physical or mental challenges, we should see them through their perspective in which they do not give up and follow their dreams constantly.
