The Ayushman Khurrana and Ananya Pandey starrer sequel to Dream Girl takes the audience on a laughter journey.

Ayushman, as Pooja, the Dream Girl, has taken on 80% of the burden of the movie, and no doubt he has done a phenomenal job as the funny avatar of Pooja has to deal with her lovers from each side and arrange money for the love of her real character, Karam. Ananya Pandey as Pari hasn't got much screen time to bring out her real character, and her accent also doesn't sound like a girl from Mathura, which the makers wanted to show. The movie starts with 'Mata Ka Jagrata', where Karam performs with Pari, his girlfriend and intimate, in a closed room where the camera records everything and it goes live on the projector. When Paris's father (Manoj Joshi) gets to know all about this, he goes to Karam's house to talk to him about him marrying his daughter but to see him in debt from all four corners, Pari's father brings a condition where Karam has to have a sufficient bank balance and a house to marry Pari, and to fulfill that, he goes beyond everything and dons Pooja avatar to earn money.

Director Raaj Shaandilyaa has done a good job framing Pooja, but for the other actors like Paresh Rawal, Asrani, Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav, and Ranjan Raj, he couldn't bring much life to their roles through writing. Even a few roles were wasted, with no need to include them in the story. Though the start and middle of the movie are hilarious, which makes you laugh out loud, the climax seems overdramatic, and Ananya doesn't give off the feel of a heroine in the movie. If you go to watch Pooja, then it's a must-go for you, but for the story, it's a little disappointing. Fans also miss Nusrat Bharucha, the female lead of the prequel Dream Girl 2, as Ananya fails to fill that void.

In a nutshell, Dream Girl 2 is a good movie to watch with your friends and family, but it couldn't match the level of the movie's first instalment.
